Discontinued Fabrics – 04 March 2015

There are several fabrics which have been discontinued.

The home decorating fabric industry is tied to the furniture industry. And how long a fabric is run by a company is directly tied to how much fabric is sold. Fabric stores make up a very small percentage of the use of home decorating fabrics, the bulk of it goes to furniture makers. And, as the furniture companies run on what is new, the life of a fabric is often short. The average life of a fabric is three years. If it is popular, it will be run for as long as it remains so. If it is not picked up, then it will have a short life, perhaps as short as the initial run.

We are not notified that a color is being dropped, or that a pattern is being discontinued. Neither are the reps. We find out when we go to re-order it.

So, several patterns have had colors dropped
