Clarence House toile fabric parrot castle-50"
A Clarence House fabric. This is a fantasy toile fabric with stripes. It is a handprint.
PLEASE NOTE: the background is not white, it is a light beige, or cream tone. The flash has bleached it in the pictures.
This pattern consists of a series of different patterned stripes. The widest stripes alternate two patterns. One has an architectual ruin perched on a tree, blooming with stylized flowers and leaves. A parrot is perched on it, and butterflies are flying about; hanging from a branch below the tree is a wooden basket with a single fruit in it. The other wide stripe has a gnarly tree flowering with quince and other flowers. Perched on it, rather like a tree house is a castle, complete with battlements, turret, and flag! Alternating with these two different scenes is a bouquet of flowers, draped with a purple ribbon, and what appears to be a tamborine.
These two stripes are framed by thin stripes of tonal muted dusty reddish pink. The next widest stripe has a small purple toned butterfly, a spring of rose blossom, tied with a pink ribbon, and a cluster of small items piled together. This stripe is framed by tonal stripes of taupy grey. In between the widest stripes, framed in pink, and the second widest stripe, framed in grye, are ribbon stripes of delicate leaves and small flowers, with clusters of larger flowers Alternating with these two vignettes is a bouquet of flowrs, with a purple ribbon and what appears to be a tamborine, done in a mustard tone. These two main patterns are then bordered by a ribbon stripes of delicate leaves and small flowers with small clusters of larger flowers.
There are a whopping twenty-six colors used on this fabric. There has been over-printing, so many, many color tones are present. But, please note: there isn't any blue on this. There are reds and pinks that run from deep to petal, and there are some with a peach or salmon tone to them. There are many greens from pine to yellow green, with some greyed. There are two browns, two greys, and gold, yellow, beige, white, and the background is a pale beige tone, or cream. The effect from a distance is of the pinks and red with greens, browns, and neutrals, cooled by the purple, and puctuated by mustard on cream. The color saturation is excellent, and the pattern carries well. The background is not as white as shown, the flash has bleached it.
