P.Kaufmann Aviary Toile madder red bird fabric Second- Lightly Streaked

P. Kaufmann's Aviary Toile fabric in madder. A red toile with birds, butterflies, and passion flowers. 

PLEASE NOTE: This has light streaking that runs up the right hand selvedge. It is very faint. But, one will lose up to 3" off of the pattern. I

Tree branches with leaves, flowers, and berries form a strong diagonal pattern across the fabric. Birds perch here and there as butterflies fly by.

This toile is done in deep red, with highlights of deep muted rosy pink, and flesh, with light cream on a deeper cream background. There has been over-printing so other tones of red and salmon are seen. The effect from a distance is of true red with deeper red and lighter salmon pink highlights on cream. The printing is precise, with many different lines and cross hatchings giving added depth to the patttern.

This is 55 3/4" wide. The large bird, with the wings outstreatched, facing to the right, is about 5 1/4" ( 13.335 cm. ) from beak to tip of tail. This has been woven as a twill, and has a smooth hand, and wonderful drape. This is a mid-weight home decorating fabric. It is perfect for cushions, curtains, totes, etc.
