It was beautiful, with a layer of apple slices, like a French apple tart, covered with pumpkin custard, and topped with leaf shaped pastry cutouts! It was served with vanilla ice cream, and was a wonderful ending to a Thanksgiving meal!

Every year right around the Thanksgiving week, a flock of turkeys shows up. This week was no exception. They arrived on Tuesday, prior to the big day. I always have to laugh, as someone who is a vegetarian, it amuses me to see them!

WILD TURKEYS COME TO CALL

This week the fabric special is the
Provence, France green tea fabric.

GREEN TEA FABRIC

This is a heavy fabric with a documentary print look of olive green on oatmeal.
It is perfect for curtains, cushions, or upholstery.
See it in the
France Italy Fabric category.

SHOP BY STYLE

Last week we finally got the new search navigation on the website. A person can now shop by style. We have pulled together patterns from across the site and put them together for those trying to create a specific look in a room or home. No longer does one have to go through item categories to find things that will work well together! Take a look at the right hand side of the home page! We are very excited about this!

The styles are:

BARONIAL STYLE
COASTAL LIVING
COLONIAL TIMES
CRAFTSMAN STYLE
ENGLISH DECORATING
FARMHOUSE STYLE
FRENCH DECORATING STYLE
LODGE & CABIN STYLE
RETRO & MODERN DECOR
TROPIC of CANCER
VICTORIAN STYLE

We think this is a great addition to help people get what they need. And we are bringing in some fabrics to help with the mixes. A stripe matelasse in 100% cotton, with stripes- for those of you who know us quit laughing! We said we did not do stripes, plaids, or dots- but we think these are good mixers! These are not co-ordinating fabrics, they are just fabrics that will blend well with a number of styles. They are coming in paprika, a mid-blue, tan, yellow, and mint. They are a great weight for anything from bed-spreads to curtains.

Also on order are two stripes to help pull together ocean fabrics. These are again a stripe (stop laughing), with a daisy chain of small sand dollars. There is a blue colorway with wide stripes of aqua, blue, and navy, and a brown colorway. They should help pull together all the diverse blues and browns one often uses for decorating for coastal living. They should be in this week, though the holiday may have pushed them back. We will keep you posted!

JUST LISTED:
Three pieces of Schumacher Greeff Angel Toile Fabric,
in green.
This is a seasonal toile fabric,
with angels shown at different times of the year.
For spring they are seen with flowers, in the summer they are cutting hay, fall shows them with grapes, and in winter they are on the ice.

SCHUMACHER GREEFF ANGEL TOILE SEASONAL FABRIC

See these in the
Angel Fabric category
There is one piece of this in the tan colorway,
which will be listed tomorrow.

WEDNESDAY- November 30, 2011- 11/30/11

The week has definitely rolled on.
