Another busy week is upon us! We got a few things listed in the last few days.<\/p>\n

SUNDAY- January 15, 2012<\/b><\/p>\n

Well, it snapped. It was 10 below zero F. this morning. While sunny, the wind has picked up, and it is cold! One of the things that really interests me in winter are rhododendrons. Being one of the few broad leafed evergreens that winter here, they are at risk for the exposure they get to the weather. Wind, snow, no snow cover, sun, cloud cover, and temperatures all play a part in how well they do. And even if the plants survive, how bud hardy are they? As temperatures drop, their leaves curl up to protect them from harm. One can literally tell the temperature by them! And one can see the changes hour by hour. If the temperatures go up, the leaves expand, and are held at their normal angle. Let it drop and they curl up, and fold downward!<\/p>\n

In winter Sunday is soup night. Tonight it is going to be a vegetable white bean soup. Off to make it, recipe tomorrow!<\/p>\n

One of the thing that fascinates me is how all of a sudden a fabric that has had little, if any interest, paid to it suddenly becomes a best seller. Some fabrics, such as the Paris Eiffel Tower Postcard fabric has universal appeal, and one understands their popularity. Others, have a very narrow interest range, and one understands that they will move slowly. But, then all of a sudden, in a week, you are inundated with orders for it!<\/p>\n

Such is the case of the Navajo Southwestern fabric. There is a large scale pattern with a smaller companion print. These have been printed to look as if they were woven, and they do! The print is interesting, the colors are good. But why this week it suddenly took off- one has to wonder why!<\/p>\n

My favorite toile just listed! This has a wonderful vintage look, with deep rich printing. Whether you like the brown or the grey, they both have a wonderful feel, evocative of a vintage fabric.<\/p>\n
