Signs of fall are everywhere. It is hard to believe September is almost over. But, it is. Tree leaves are falling. And while a few flowers are still blooming, one knows that also is coming to an end.<\/p>\n

MONDAY- September 24, 2012<\/b><\/p>\n

Last week, in an effort to really tidy up the fabrics, we did a lot of listing of Clarence House Fabrics. Others were also listed that were not listed on the blog. We will get to those in a minute.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

INTERNATIONAL BUYERS- please note!<\/b>
\nWe all know that the length of time fabric takes to get to a buyer once it is shipped depends on many factors.<\/p>\n

First, how long it takes to leave the country.
\nWe have had packages being held here for up to three weeks.
\nWhy, we do not know, but it is happening.<\/p>\n

Second, how long it takes to be processed into a country.
\nThis depends on how many points of entry there are.<\/p>\n

Third, how long something is delayed in customs.
\nOne year things going into the UK were being dealt with in groups…
\nthey were ganged.
\nThings that hit customs after a batch had been processed were held up three weeks; but, if a package arrived just as they were dealing with things, they would go right through.<\/p>\n

While the flat rate mailers are not trackable after they leave the USA, the boxes are trackable with the custom’s number.<\/p>\n

I write people to tell us if the package has not arrived in two weeks. An inquiry into the packages where abouts can be started after ten business days.<\/p>\n

It is a lot easier to track down a package that is lost after two weeks, rather than six, when it has been shipped to the wrong country, or is stuck on a shelf, with things piling up around it.<\/p>\n

Also, each country has a time line for processing lost packages- some are six weeks from when the inquiry is started.<\/p>\n

PLEASE-<\/b>
\nemail us when your package does not arrive after two weeks.
\nDON’T WAIT
\nSooner is better than later!
\nWe can open an inquiry with the USPS and get the package moving again!<\/p>\n

SCHUMACHER FABRIC-
\nHorse Chestnut Fabric<\/p>\n

We have not had this in a long time. It screams autumn!Larger than life leaves drift through the air. The background is a smooth brown tone. This would be wonderful in a library!<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The next fabric is rather an oddity.
\nIt was picked up on a buying trip.
\nIt has no references on the selvedge as to the maker.
\nIt is a faux silk with a very different pallet than most fabrics we get.<\/p>\n

FAUX SILK FLORAL FABRIC<\/p>\n

The faux silk fabric has a golden toned background
\nwith an olive under tone.
\nThe flowers are grey with olive grey details.
\nThe colors change dramatically with how the light hits it.<\/p>\n

The following is very special.
\nIt came in with the Clarence House Fabrics,
\nthe weaving on this is amazing!
\nBut, one has to like green!<\/p>\n

ORIENTAL FABRIC
\nA woven Asian Oriental fabric with boats and water<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The most recent listing is another Asian Oriental fabric.
\nIt is a vintage chintz,
\nand has a wonderful background color of coral red!<\/p>\n

TUESDAY- September 25, 2012<\/b><\/p>\n

A bright and breezy day started off cold, but warmed up. The wind has floats of leaves coming down. The ashes, always the first to drop their leaves, are looking thin way up high…<\/p>\n

Because of the sun we got a lot of pictures taken. Not all editing has been done, but one Schumacher fabric did get listed. This is a pattern we have not had in a long time. It has always been popular! It features a classic Asian Oriental design with large Birds of Paradise on flowering vines.<\/p>\n
