A beautiful day in mid-coast Maine… a nice way to start the week! We decided to change the format of the blog for a bit..<\/p>\n

The blog will be more of a random thing.. bits and pieces of what is going on in Maine, and in the fabric world.
\nLife in Maine in the summer is very different than in the winter.
\nBeing a state that is tourist oriented, the whole feel of life changes.
\nThe weather continues to warm,
\nthe landscapes soften with greenery,
\nStores that have been closed for nine months unboard.
\nAnd one sees the scraping of houses, as people get ready to paint
\nGardens are bloooming with flowers…
\nLife feels good.<\/p>\n
This year,because of the amount of rain we have had, the leaves are fully leafed out, and it is green, green, green!
\nLooking down the hill through the sunlight that is slanting in one sees the brown trunks of trees, and the sunlit leaves of maples and oaks.<\/p>\n

Early June in Maine<\/b><\/p>\n
This morning, upon getting up and looking out the window,
\nthe first thing seen,
\nwas the lone female turkey walking slowly across the field.
\nShe pecked her way up to the blue spruce, where food had been left out for her..
\nShe ate for about three minutes, and then continued up the hill.
\nShe has been seen resting in the lower field,
\nand across from the house,
\nin the middle of the blue bells, ferns, white bleeding hearts, and pulmonaria.
\nIt is always a surprise,
\nwhen\u00a0one is gardening, to see her head and neck suddenly appear-
\nshe startles one as much as one is startled by her!<\/p>\n
COFFEE BREAK!<\/b>
\nEvery Monday a large pitcher of ice coffee is made.
\nNot liking deep roasted coffee, Taster’s Choice does the trick.
\n(the groans of horror can be heard!)
\n5 rounded spoonfuls of the crystals to 2 cups of hot water,
\nadd ice cubes to bring it to 4 cups,
\nand there you go!
\nServe on ice, will last as long as you need!
\nFast, easy, and tastes just fine!<\/p>\n
