Well, it is hot- in the 90’s!
\nWe are not used to heat like this in June!
\nBermuda highs roll up the coast in late August bringing
\nheat and humidity,
\nand we expect that…
\nBut, this is unexpected!<\/p>\n

SUMMER FABRIC<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

<\/p>\n

For us June means fog, cool days, and cold nights
\nwith rainy days alternating with gradually warming days.<\/p>\n

But, this feels like high summer,
\nso I thought I would look at some fabrics that say
\n“summer” to me.<\/p>\n

The summer meadow fabric with birds,
\nblackberries, sweet peas, asters, and grasses just says summer.
\nI love the little details-
\nthe small snail, the feathers, and\u00a0 the names of the plants.<\/p>\n

This beach fabric has a great summer feel!<\/p>\n

BLUE BEACH FABRIC<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

With the rocks and fish on the wooden boards,
\nit reminds me of boardwalks.
\nThough mostly done in blues and beiges,
\nsmall aqua striped fish adds a bit of nice variation.<\/p>\n

It is also available in a more colorful version.<\/p>\n

Not for everyone,
\nbut for those who live in a foggy ocean area,
\nthis bird fabric does say summer.<\/p>\n

Done in neutrals,
\nthe small vignettes do remind one of a walk at the beach.at low tide,
\nwhere one can find shells and rocks with an occasional feather,
\nand might see a shore bird.<\/p>\n

The gull with the grass reminds me of sand dunes.<\/p>\n

For those that garden,
\nsnapdragons spell summer.<\/p>\n

There is has been done as a watercolor painting.
\nThe colors blend and merge with each other,
\nmoving from light to dark.<\/p>\n

And what says summer more than sunflowers?
\nThere are a few yards left of the French sunflower fabric.<\/p>\n

Another summery fabric is the
\nWaterlily Pond fabric.<\/p>\n

This is lovely- waterlilies and their pads
\nfloat on a pond of soft blue,
\nwith dragonflies flying here and their.<\/p>\n

It has been done on a double slubbed linen\/cotton,
\nwhich adds to the watercolor effect.<\/p>\n

The library fabric has a summer time look
\nwith it’s white washed shelves and Panama hat.<\/p>\n

I love the eclectic mix of the items- from books and bottles to
\ncarved block letters, with the magnifying glass.<\/p>\n

And the small details add so much- the twine that
\nwraps the books, the tag marking some books,
\nwith its reinforced doughnut of heavier paper around
\nthe hole for the string.
\nThere is a lot to look at on this!<\/p>\n

And, one can not get more summery than the
\nRetro Swimming Pool fabric
\nwith its girls on their floating mattresses!<\/p>\n

This would be fun in a cabana or a girls room.<\/p>\n
