This week has been all about grey fabrics.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Grey, like all colors, can have a wide variety of tones, dark to light, of course. But, also it can be warm or cool, which is something to think about when using it in your decorating scheme.<\/p>\n

Grey is a great neutral. It can be understated, and elegant, or move to a country look. One thing I like about it is a color that can be used in so many ways. Want a subtle color palette, or use it to makes other colors pop.<\/p>\n

The Clarence House Fabric Ghent is a grey linen fabric
\nwith a tone on tone woven in pattern.
\nThe woven pattern keeps it from looking flat.
\nLight hits the pattern, giving it a lift.<\/p>\n

The woven lattice fabric in grey has a very structured look.
\nA classic, it can be used for upholstery work or small projects.
\nThe pattern has a raised woven outline that helps define the pattern.<\/p>\n

We also have a printed lattice.
\nThe background is a blend of greys,
\nwhich gives a very different look to a classic pattern.
\nThe scrolling element has a thin outline of beige

Moving away from these classic patterns is
\nthe Colonial Floral Fabric.
\nThis has the look of a vintage wallpaper,
\nwhich has been updated.<\/p>\n

Totally different from the precise look of the
\ncolonial floral are paisleys.
\nAnd, we have several that use grey.
\nThis one has wonderful flow.<\/p>\n

The Grey Indigo Blue Paisley Fabric
\nhas a lot of traditional pattern elements,
\nbut the botahs are set in rows,
\ngiving a very different look.<\/p>\n

Moving away from the paisley to its
\nnear relative, the Indienne pattern, is this fabric.
\nIt has a typical Indienne pattern,

This chinoiserie pagoda pattern
\nhas the look of an ink drawing.

Grey can be a wonderful foil for other colors.

\nThe greys used on this fabric gives the effect of a tropical evening.<\/p>\n

The grey background of the yellow lily fabric
\ndoes two things.
\nIt makes the colors stand out well,
\nbut it reminds one of a stand of lilies after a summer rain.<\/p>\n
