Well, whether one likes it or not,
\nbut fall is here!<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

I find fall interesting.
\nOn one hand I heave a sigh of relief that the hecticness of summer is over.
\nAnd, I look back at the whole year,
\nthinking about things done, accomplished,
\nand things that have not gotten done.<\/p>\n

But, on the other hand,
\neven though I love fall,
\nI always wish there was another three weeks of warm weather,
\nwithout all the tourists, cars, and the frantic behavior
\nliving in a tourist state engenders.<\/p>\n

And, let’s face it-
\nfall in New England is special.
\nI love going to the apple orchard to get cider and apples.
\nI love the colors of the season,
\nthe piles of pumpkins and other winter squash,
\nand the smell of chrysanthemums,
\nwhich decorate nearly every business and home.<\/p>\n

And, we have fabrics that celebrate the season.<\/p>\n

One of the most popular is the
\nScandinavian Tree fabric.<\/p>\n

What I like about this is the clean ,
\nstylized look of the the trees,
\ninterspersed with the over sized oak leaves.<\/p>\n

It has a touch of whimsy about it,
\nwhich makes it fun without being cutesy.<\/p>\n

And, the colors say “fall”.<\/p>\n

 
\n<\/p>\n

We have the modern horse hunt fabric in four colorways.
\nThe orange\/gold gives the appearance of a fall fabric,
\neven though those colors are only used for the coats of the riders.<\/p>\n

This butterfly fabric\u00a0 also has fall colors.
\nEven though none of these are actually monarch’s,
\nthis always reminds me of the monarch butterfly’s migration flight.<\/p>\n

The fishing toile fabric also gives a sense of fall.
\nWhile part of it is the colors used,
\npart of it is the pattern,
\nwhich has not just a fishing motif,
\nbut also a hunting motif,
\nwith two hunters and dogs,
\nwith geese flying over-head.<\/p>\n

There are some florals that have a fall feel.<\/p>\n

The Crane Garden Fabric is a gorgeous fabric.
\nBoth the fabric itself and the pattern are wonderful.
\nThis colorway is filled with fall tones
\non a smooth brown background.<\/p>\n

A very different look is this fabric with a
\nblue background.
\nIt has a mix of flowers- camellias, columbine,\u00a0and dahlias.<\/p>\n

The Scandinavian Floral
\nreminds me of fall-
\nthe red flowers remind me of berries,
\nand the seed heads remind me of dandelion docks and
\nthe seed heads of Queen Anne’s Lace.<\/p>\n

There are two novelty fabrics that could be used for a fall effect.<\/p>\n

One is the orange red blue seashell fabric.
\nThis has large shells in fall colors,
\npunctuated by sky blue,
\non a background of tan coral.<\/p>\n

The other one that I like for a fall fabric is the
\nJapanese Lantern Fabric, in taupe.
\nI love the pattern itself with the different lanterns hanging from cording.<\/p>\n

But, I also like the colors.
\nThe touch of violet pink adds an interesting counterpoint to the fall tones.<\/p>\n

Two of the windowpane plaids could also be used for fall.
\nThere is the Red Green Gold Windowpane Fabric,
\nand the Orange Green Gold Windowpane.<\/p>\n
