One can not deny,
\nwhen we get to the 4th of July,
\nit is summer.<\/p>\n

But, our weather does not reflect this!<\/p>\n

Okay, weather\u00a0 this spring- awful!
\nRain, cold, rain, cold.<\/p>\n

Weather in June?
\nA repeat of the above- with fog!<\/p>\n

Last Sunday started rainy.
\nIt was supposed to get to a warm 67 degrees F.
\nBut, in the middle of the morning-<\/p>\n

SURPRISE!<\/p>\n

The sun came out, the temperature rose,
\nand suddenly it was like a sauna!
\nWhile no one likes high humidity,
\nit felt like a summer day.<\/p>\n

Finally!<\/p>\n

Forget that the weather has reverted to the rain\/cold scenario,
\nSunday gave people hope for some pleasant weather.<\/p>\n

So, as the 4th approaches,
\neven though the approaching ten days looks unpleasant and cold,
\nwe are ready to enjoy summer!<\/p>\n

Fabrics for summer?
\nWell, of course, the first thing that comes to mind is seersucker.<\/p>\n

Seersucker just says “summer” to me.
\nThe seersucker we have is perfect for duvets and bedskirts,
\nas well as bathrobes.
\nThe aqua is pretty!<\/p>\n

We have some left in
\nblue, red, and pink as well.<\/p>\n

Some of the windowpane plaids are reminiscent of
\nsummer tablecloths from the ’50’s and ’60’s,
\nwhen Madras plaid was popular.<\/p>\n

One of my favorite summery fabrics is the
\nSummer Meadow Fabric
\nwith its birds, grasses, asters, sweet pea flowers, and blackberries!<\/p>\n

And what would summer be without sunflowers?<\/p>\n

This colorful Indienne is not a summery fabric per se.<\/p>\n

Bright and bold,
\nwe call it the Fiesta Indienne!
\nIt would make wonderful cushions and curtains
\nwhere one needs a shot of color for summer decorating.<\/p>\n

And, of course,
\nwhat could be more summery than our
\nmid-century girly pool fabric?<\/p>\n

\nmight be something one would want.<\/p>\n
