{"id":551,"date":"2015-03-23T23:51:03","date_gmt":"2015-03-23T23:51:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/dev.brickhousefabrics.com\/blog\/?p=551"},"modified":"2016-04-28T10:37:27","modified_gmt":"2016-04-28T10:37:27","slug":"week-of-march-23-2015","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.brickhousefabrics.com\/blog\/week-of-march-23-2015\/","title":{"rendered":"Week of March 23, 2015"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"img_caption left\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"caption\" src=\"https:\/\/www.brickhousefabrics.com\/images\/stories\/March-2013\/march-snow-144.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"144\" align=\"left\" border=\"0\" \/><\/div>\n<p class=\"noindent\">Well March is nearly over&#8230; tough to believe as the ground is still covered in 1 &#8211; 2 feet of snow, and it is really cold&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Over the last three weeks, if one were visiting Maine, one would see buckets attached to trees, and 5 gallon buckets with tubes running from a tree spigot to the bucket&#8230; it is time to gather sap for maple syrup.<\/p>\n<p>But, we have had so few days of warmth, I am not certain how much syrup there will be! Last week the temperatures rarely went above 30 degrees F. Yesterday it was 15 degrees, with a howling wind, and this morning it was 5 degrees F when we got up. It is just plain cold!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"center\">Two years ago all snow was gone by this time,<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.brickhousefabrics.com\/images\/stories\/March-2012\/march-field-12-500a.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.brickhousefabrics.com\/images\/stories\/March-2012\/march-gulls.500.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>with all ice off ponds and out of the harbors.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.brickhousefabrics.com\/images\/stories\/March-2012\/march-duckhouse-500b.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This year there is very little open water.<br \/>\nOn some of the lakes there is still 20 inches of ice left.<\/p>\n<p>But, the water is sparkling!<br \/>\nAround March 15 there is this incredible change to the water.<br \/>\nIt turns blue after months of seeming grey,<br \/>\nand the waves really do sparkle in the sun!<\/p>\n<p>Every year I look for it,<br \/>\nit is a sure sign of the changing of the seasons,<br \/>\neven if the weather does not seem to be co-operating!<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.brickhousefabrics.com\/images\/stories\/logo\/dragonfly%20hor.jpg\" alt=\"\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p><b>BRICK HOUSE FABRICS NEWS<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Last year we expanded to open the retail space in<br \/>\nthe brick house.<br \/>\nWe lived through some growing pains,<br \/>\nchanging the layout, hours, etc.<\/p>\n<p>This year will see the roll out of a new website.<br \/>\nHopefully it will be done within the next month.<br \/>\nThis, will have a new format,<br \/>\nbut, we are keeping many of the old features for search,<br \/>\nwhile adding the ability to shop from mobile devices.<\/p>\n<p>We are excited, and hope you will all like it as well.<\/p>\n<p><b>____________________________________<\/b><\/p>\n<p>While redoing the website we have really looked at the fabrics we carry,<br \/>\nand the categories we use for search.<\/p>\n<p>Brick House Fabrics has always been about unique fabrics,<br \/>\nfor the most part these have been novelties.<\/p>\n<p>With the opening of the retail space<br \/>\nwe felt we needed to add basics to the mix:<br \/>\nsolids, checks, stripes, etc.<\/p>\n<p>While we have continued to bring them in,<br \/>\ngetting them online has been a challenge.<br \/>\nBut, with Debbie&#8217;s arrival, we have gotten very organized!<\/p>\n<p>And, hope to get more of them online, to offer them to you!<\/p>\n<p>The other thing we recently decided to do<br \/>\nwas to expand the Indienne Fabric category,<br \/>\nand also the rug patterns.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.brickhousefabrics.com\/images\/stories\/Fabric-info\/bolts.jpg\" alt=\"\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"caption\">Bolts of Indienne Fabrics<br \/>\nare lined up to be photographed!<\/p>\n<p class=\"center\">So, ten new Indienne fabrics are here,<br \/>\nand about ten more Indiennes and rug patterned fabrics should be in this week.<br \/>\nWe have tried to chose a wide assortment of colors and scale,<br \/>\nto give as much choise as possible!<\/p>\n<p>So, watch the<br \/>\n<b>FABRIC BLOG<\/b><br \/>\nfor details!<\/p>\n<p>And, take a look at the<br \/>\nIndienne fabrics that we have at the moment.<\/p>\n<p>You can see them in the<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.brickhousefabrics.com\/Indienne%20fabric\"><b>Indienne fabric category!<\/b><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Well March is nearly over&#8230;
