Building upon building rise up in a crowded city. One is surrounded by turrets, archways, pediments, columns, and balconies. There is brick work and stone work, balusters, and metal balconies. Carvings enliven facades and column capitals, a small rose window adorns a church. The amount of architectural detail is astounding! A floral motif gives softness.

This is colored in a most unique way. Parts of the pattern have been washed with different colors which overlap. Colors used are deep brick red, purple, and gold on white. Layering, stippling, and blending gives many, many tones of brown, russet, burgundy, purple, and gold. The effect is of a glorious city washed in light and shadow, as the sun moves through a fall day.
