There are two main scenes on this toile. The first has an old building, in front of which a man, woman, and child are eating their noon day meal, while another couple and child walk on their way to harvest; in the background is a field, and beyond that a town. The second main scene shows a woman conversing with another in front of a stone building. A man sits in front of it with a musical instrument, while another man is shown carrying a load of grain. There are many country details- sheep, cows, donkeys, dogs, and many country items.

Colors are a brownish red and salmon rose, with a background pattern of light and very, very pale terracotta on white. Depending on the light this can look more of a cherry red with pink tones, or more of a brownish red salmon tone.
