A woven upholstery fabric with vintage Japanese Imari china. This Imari china fabric is amazing! It is one of the most complex woven patterns we have seen.

Over-lapping chargers and platters form a complex pattern. This fabric is filled with the most amazing colors and designs. The platters have a central design, often bordered, just as real Imari china is, with multiple rows of different patterned borders. There is a hexagonal platter, and one with a scalloped edge. One sees carp, tea houses, a sailing ship, pheasants, flowers, and more.

The colors are those of true Imari china. This is woven of blue, red, aqua, gold, and white. Because of the interweaving one sees many colors, including cream, beige, orange, celedon, aqua, and royal blue, among others. The effect from a distance is of rich tones of blue, red, orange, golden beige, and soft celedon with white.

This fabric is 59 1/4" wide. The platters range from 11" ( 27.94 cm. ) - 12 1/4" ( 31.115 cm. ) across. This is a woven upholstery weight fabric. It is perfect for curtains, cushions, upholstery, etc.
