This tropical fabric is rather mysterious... what tale does this fabric tell? Palm trees and birds are shown on a background of letters, postage stamps, and postal seals. French and English addresses are seen, along with stamps from the Cook Islands and the Tokelau Islands. One of the letters is a copy of a document, a will, transferring things from one person to another, and it is dated March 1747. Did someone die and leave everything to someone in the Islands? Or did someone die in the islands and leave a plantation to someone in England? One can only wonder!

A tropical travel fabric with palm trees, birds, postcards and letters.
This tropical fabric is rather mysterious... what tale does this fabric tell? Palm trees and birds are shown on a background of letters, postage stamps, and postal seals. French and English addesses are seen, along with stamps from the Cook Islands and the Tokelau Islands. One of the letters is a copy of a document, a will, transfering things from one person to another, and it is dated March 1747. Did someone die and leave everything to someone in the Islands? Or did someone die in the islands and leave a plantation to someone in England? One can only wonder!
The colors used are realistic. There are many browns and yellow greens. Tones of crayon blue, deep red, and golden yellow are used, with black. The colors have been blended and over-dyed so many colors are seen. The background is oatmeal, it does have fleck, and some of the threads are slightly darker as well. From a distance one sees yellow greens and browns punctuated by deep red, goldend yellow, and blue, with the black lettering on tan. The effect from a distance is vintage.
This fabric is 56 1/2" wide. The palm tree with the pointed top is about 14 1/2" ( 36.83 cm. ) tall; the yellow and green bird is about 6 3/4" ( 17.145 cm. ), measuring down the fabric, not along the bird. This is a mid-weight home decorating fabric. It has nice drape. It has a matt, dry look and feel. It is perfect for curtains, cushions, totes, etc.
