Curtain lining fabrics are in! You asked for them, we have them!
Okay, so curtain linings aren’t the most exciting thing… I mean, one does not really pay attention to them!
But, the right curtain lining can do a lot for a curtain!
Depending on how one sews it to the curtain it can help stabilize it, can preserve the life of it by blocking the sun’s rays, and help with insulating the room from cold and drafts. And, depending on the type of fabric, it will also help keep light out.
We went for the best lining we could find. Though not something one thinks about, all linings are not created equal. Some linings are made of fabrics one would not want off-gasing in one’s home. And some are just plain flimsy. We have chosen two linings that are 100% cotton fabric.
The basic everyday lining has a smooth tight weave, and is crease resistant.
The black out lining has a 100% cotton fabric that has a foam coating, that has been flocked with rayon. It has a smooth soft hand and very nice drape. It can help not only with blocking light, but also sound, and will also help with insulating the window.
The regular lining is ivory, the black out is white. If one wants a different color, let us know!
